Terms of Membership
These terms govern your Mexas en Boston member account and the community features. Please read them before joining. This is a plain-language summary, not legal advice.

1Who can join
Membership is intended for Mexicans and members of the Mexican community in Greater Boston. You create an account, complete a short application, and an administrator reviews it. We may approve, decline, or ask for changes at our discretion. You must be 18 or older and provide accurate information.
2Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. Don't impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or the Community Guidelines.
3Community content
You own what you post (profiles, listings, reviews, messages, posts). By posting, you grant Mexas en Boston a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute it within the platform. You're responsible for your content; it must be accurate, lawful, and respectful. We use post-moderation and reporting: content can be removed and accounts actioned.
4Marketplace, jobs, and services: connection only
Mexas en Boston is a connector, not a party to any transaction. When you buy, sell, hire, apply, or offer services through the platform, you deal directly with the other member. We do not process payments, hold funds, verify items, employers, or people, ship anything, or guarantee any outcome. Any payment (e.g. Venmo, Zelle) and any agreement is strictly between you and the other member.
You are responsible for vetting the other party. Never pay before you receive what you agreed to, meet in a public place, and use common sense. Mexas en Boston is not responsible for any loss, damage, dispute, or injury arising from member-to-member dealings.
5Event tickets
Tickets to Mexas en Boston events are sold through the platform. By purchasing, you agree that: tickets are for attendees 21 years of age or older, and a valid government-issued ID will be checked at the door; the venue may deny entry to anyone for conduct it considers inappropriate; and all sales are final, with no refunds under any circumstance.
Each ticket carries a unique QR code and may be scanned only once; a scanned ticket cannot be transferred or changed. You may resell a ticket you own through the marketplace, but never for more than the price you paid. Ticket resale is connection-only: you arrange payment directly with the buyer and reassign the ticket to them. Mexas en Boston does not process the resale payment and is not a party to it.
6Taxes & fiscal responsibility
You, not Mexas en Boston, are responsible for any taxes or fiscal charges arising from anything you buy or sell on the platform, including marketplace items and event tickets. Mexas en Boston does not collect, withhold, remit, or advise on taxes on your behalf, and provides no tax or fiscal advice. You are responsible for determining and meeting any tax obligations that apply to you.
7Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The platform is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mexas en Boston and its organizers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the conduct of any member or third party.
8Ending membership
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations. Some records may be retained as required by law or for safety.
9Changes & contact
We may update these terms; we'll note the date above and, for material changes, ask you to re-accept. Questions? Email hola@mexasboston.com.
